LA Strike Fund
Our strike fund will be used to prepare for and sustain a general strike in LA County, including supporting strikers while they refuse work. Our chapter is entirely powered by volunteers, and no one is profiting from our fund. The only money members receive is reimbursements from costs associated with the vital work of running our chapter. Some of these items are listed below to give you a better idea of where your donations will be spent.
Short Term:
- Stickers, posters, flyers, etc.
- Envelopes, stamps, printing costs, etc.
- P.O. Box mailing address
- Encrypted email service
- Website hosting
Long Term:
- Financial support for striking workers
- Mutual aid supplies
- Distribution site rentals & materials
- Warehouse & truck rentals, gas, etc.
In the event that a general strike in LA does not take place, after a vote by our Strike Fund Committee, any remaining funds will be redistributed to other mutual aid groups within LA County. Rest assured that your contribution will go toward supporting our local community, no matter what. For any questions regarding refunds, donations, or payments of any kind, please email us at hello@generalstrikela.com.
